Byte: GST is being executed with an idea of making the taxation simple and create a level playing field for everyone. The smartphones, tablets, PCs, accessories should ideally fall under a lower tax slab either 12 percent or 18 percent considering apple will have a huge role to play towards governments vision of Digital India.
The GST rollout has begun, and thanks to the impact, The day GST regime was launched in India, Apple iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus, have officially got a price-cut. Additionally, Apple’s new 10.5-inch iPad Pro, 12.9-inch iPad Pro, iPad, and iPad mini 4 have got price-cut as well.
According to experts, the price drop post-GST will help Apple cement its position in the challenging Indian market. Currently, Apple has 3 per cent market share by volume and 11 per cent by value in the country.
Apple iPhone 7 (32GB), which was launched at Rs 60,000 is now available at Rs 56,200. The 128GB and 256GB options of iPhone 7 can now be bought at Rs 65,200 and Rs 74,400 respectively. The phones were originally unveiled at Rs 70,000 and Rs 80,000.
Apple 12-inch MacBook 1.2GHz is now available at Rs 1,04,800.Apple’s 13-inch MacBook Pro (128GB) without Touch Bar, can now be bought at Rs 1,04,900.
Apart from iPhones, Apple also slashed prices of iPads, Macs and Apple Watch.
